Privacy
Is my financial data private?
Yes. Definly is local-first — your data lives on your device by default. Optional cloud backup uses encrypted Google Drive. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
Does Definly read my SMS?
On Android, with your permission, Definly parses bank SMS locally on your device to auto-create transactions. No SMS leaves your phone — parsing happens entirely on-device.
Where is my data stored?
Local Isar database on your phone. Family sync (if enabled) uses Supabase with row-level security. Backups go to your own Google Drive folder, end-to-end encrypted.
Plans & billing
Can I cancel Premium anytime?
Yes. Manage and cancel your subscription anytime from the App Store or Google Play settings. You keep access until the end of your billing period.
Is there a free trial?
Premium offers a 7-day free trial on first subscription. No credit card needed to start with the Free plan.
Do you offer student or family discounts?
Family sync (up to 5 members) is included in a single Premium subscription — that's effectively a family plan at no extra cost. Student discounts coming soon.

Which banks and markets are supported?
SMS auto-parse works for major UAE and Indian banks (ENBD, NBD, Mashreq, ADCB, FAB, HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis, Kotak and more). CSV import works for any bank globally. Portfolios cover 16 markets — UAE, India, US, UK, Saudi, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, S. Korea, Brazil, S. Africa, Germany, Japan, and Global.
Can I track stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds?
Yes — Premium includes multi-market equities, ETFs, and mutual funds with live prices, XIRR per holding, asset + sector allocation, portfolio health score with concentration alerts, and tax reports ready to export.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The app works fully offline. Sync, live prices, and backups need internet — everything else doesn't.
Troubleshooting
Why isn't my SMS being parsed?
Check Settings → Permissions → SMS is allowed for Definly. Some phones (Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo) need extra battery/autostart permissions — see the help docs for your phone brand.
How do I restore from backup?
Settings → Backup → Restore from Drive. Pick the device & date, confirm, and Definly rebuilds your full state. Works across iOS ↔ Android.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email hello@definly.app with a screenshot or screen recording — we usually reply same day, often with a fix in the next release.
